Naples NJROTC Marks Historic First During Change of Command Ceremony

The Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) unit at Naples Middle High School conducted its annual change of command ceremony Tuesday, marking a historic milestone as it transitioned leadership for the 2025–26 school year.

In the presence of Vice Adm. Thomas E. Andersen, commander of the U.S. 6th Fleet, Cadet Lt. Cmdr. Camden Kasparek formally passed the role of cadet commanding officer to Cadet Lt. Cmdr. Sasha Munz. Cadet Lt. Arianna Vasquez was appointed as the new executive officer, while Cadet Senior Chief Petty Officer Mikayla Smith assumed duties as the command senior chief.

The ceremony, followed full military protocol and recognized the dedication, discipline, and accomplishments of both outgoing and incoming leaders. It also marked a historic first for the Naples NJROTC program, reflecting the unit’s growth and continued pursuit of excellence.

Part of the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Europe system, the Naples NJROTC remains deeply engaged in leadership training, academic competitions, and community service. The newly appointed leadership team is set to carry the unit’s strong tradition forward into the upcoming academic year. The new leadership team will guide the program through the upcoming academic year, continuing its legacy of excellence.
