Cadets from Naples NJROTC visit USS Mt. Whitney (LCC-20) in historic tour

Cadets from the Naples Middle High School Navy Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (NJROTC) had the opportunity to visit the 6th Fleet command ship, USS Mount Whitney (LCC-20), during a special educational tour.
Upon arrival, the cadets were welcomed aboard by the Commanding Officer, Captain Price, who provided them with an overview of the ship’s history and operations. The cadets toured various departments aboard the vessel, gaining hands-on experience in areas such as damage control and navigation.
The tour also included a meeting with Major General Odom, Commander of the 2nd Marine Division, who spoke to the cadets about leadership and military service.
The highlight of the visit was a meal shared with the ship's officers and crew, where the cadets had the chance to hear firsthand accounts of life aboard the ship and the experiences of the service members.
The visit provided the cadets with valuable insights into naval operations and leadership, offering them a unique glimpse into the daily lives of military personnel.
