During March, 7th and 8th-grade students engaged in interdisciplinary learning across core content areas as part of AAPS level II and level III services. This approach integrates ideas and topics from different subjects and applies skills and ways of thinking from various disciplines, therefore promoting higher-order thinking. Math has been central to our interdisciplinary connections. To ensure appropriate application across content areas, AAPS collaborated with middle school math teachers.
After co-planning with the math department, AAPS co-planned specific learning opportunities and a variety of co-teaching approaches with other content-area teachers and the MLP department.
