Wildcat News (SY 26-27)

October 2, 2026

In this week's Wildcat News...

Last weekend reminded us what makes our Wildcat community special. Thank you to Student Council for helping make this year’s Homecoming Dance a memorable event for our students, and thank you to our families and community members who came out to support our first Friday night football game on the field under the new lights. Our band did a great job, our cheerleaders brought plenty of energy, and our Wildcat football team put together a great game. It was truly a fun fall evening and a special event for the entire NMHS community.

Next week, we have several important schedule reminders. On Tuesday, October 6, all 11th-grade students will take the PSAT/NMSQT, while 12th-grade students new to DoWEA will take the SAT. There will also be no school for students on Friday, October 9, due to teacher training.

Finally, the first quarter ends on October 15, which means students have only four A Days and four B Days remaining in the quarter. As we enter these final days, we encourage students and families to check Aspen and review current academic progress together. This is a great opportunity for students, parents, teachers, and staff to stay connected, ask questions or request support, and work together toward a strong finish to the quarter. We appreciate your continued partnership and the support our teachers and staff provide each day to help our students succeed. Have a great weekend, Wildcats!
