Registration for the school year 26 27 is now open, and all parents and sponsors must log in to the DoDEA Student Information System DSIS Family Portal to indicate whether their student is returning next year. New student registration will be closed from 2/25 to 3/11, and families with questions or upcoming moves should contact Ms. Pellecchia.

PTSA is hosting a Spring Membership Drive with a chance to win a 25 dollar NEX gift card for members who join by March 15, with winners announced at the May 17 PTSA meeting. PTSA is also sharing information on the senior scholarship application timeline, volunteer opportunities for Month of the Military Child and Teacher Appreciation Week, and the Spring Middle School Dance on May 15.

The 2026 Past Is Prologue Essay Contest is open for students ages 11 to 18, including homeschool students, with essays due by May 3, 2026, at 10:00 p.m. MDT. This year’s theme asks students to examine the alliance with France during a selected period of American military history and connect its lessons to their own lives and future.

NMHS seniors have several upcoming events from March through graduation, including a St Patrick’s potluck on March 17 and senior cap decorating on April 30th. The senior trip is on April 28. Key late-May events include the senior recognition ceremony and the checkout-day movie matinee, followed by graduation practice on June 3 and graduation on June 4.

Shoutout to our Mu Alpha Theta students for hosting a week of events that culminated in a Pie-a-Teacher contest in honor of Pi Week. A special shoutout goes to student photographer Sam R for capturing Pi Week photos.

Naples spring sports opened with a strong weekend, as baseball and softball each earned two wins at Rota. Girls' soccer won 7-0 at MMI; boys' soccer fell 2-0; and track and field finished second for boys and third for girls.

Congratulations to the Culinary Cats C.A.F.E team for placing first in the overall team competition at this year’s event in Germany. Students also earned first place in both the canape and knife cuts competitions.

NMHS eighth-grade students visited the Sicily-Rome American Cemetery and Memorial in Nettuno, Italy, to deepen their understanding of the Italian Campaign and honor those who gave their lives in service. The visit included touring the grounds, placing roses in remembrance, and a formal wreath-laying ceremony, with PTSA support helping make the experience possible.

In a recent science unit at Naples Middle High School, the Savvas Science Quest helped students develop a deeper understanding of natural resources through inquiry-based lessons and research. Students investigated a town or region that boomed, busted, or remained in balance based on its reliance on a specific resource and shared their learning through a variety of project formats.

Tutor.com is offering short webinars to introduce DoWEA students, parents, and educators to the Tutor.com for U S Military Families Program, including support for more than 25 AP courses and full-length practice tests that can be taken timed or untimed. Participants will learn how to create an account through ClassLink, connect with a live tutor, access practice tests, and use video lessons and study resources.

NMHS will host three evening events in April to support student planning for next year and beyond. Rising Senior Night is April 16, followed by Dual Enrollment Information Night and Wildcat AP Night on April 30.

The first annual NMHS Rock Paper Scissors Challenge took place on Tuesday, March 17, and Georgia J won all 400 strands of beads and a $25 NEX gift card. Families who purchased a yearbook and plan to PCS before May 25 are reminded to submit a self-addressed padded envelope and a 25 dollar check to NMHS SAF for postage upon checkout

Education students are creating lesson plans and practicing teaching within their own class. They have delivered math, language arts, and art lessons for kindergarten through fourth grade and are using peer feedback to revise lessons before implementing them in their mentors' classrooms during the fourth quarter.
