Wrestling shines on the road while boys basketball sweeps AOSR at home

It was another busy and successful weekend for Naples athletics as wrestling took the mats and basketball hosted American Overseas School of Rome at home.

On the wrestling side, the girls' team finished in a tie for first place with Rota at fifty-two points, ahead of Sigonella, Vicenza, and Aviano. Top two finishers for Naples included Jayiah C, Madison B, Ilyana R, Alyssa M, and Audrey A, who all helped secure big points for the Wildcats.

The boys wrestling team dominated the meet, winning the team title with one hundred twenty three points ahead of Rota, Aviano, Vicenza, and Sigonella. Naples wrestlers finishing in the top two of their divisions were Keith A, Deshaun B, Julian P, Mylan R, Hayden S, Brady P, Phoenix G, Aiden L, Patrick R, Hans V, and Daniel A. It was a standout day on the mats for Nap.

At home in the gym, boys basketball picked up a sweep over AOSR. On Friday, Naples earned a 52 to 44 win behind scoring from Jeramiah R and Ryan M. On Saturday, the Wildcats closed out a tight game with a 39 to 36 victory, led by Jeramiah R, Landron H, and Ryan M.

The girls basketball team continued to compete hard in back to back games against a tough AOSR squad, falling 46 to 22 on Friday and 41 to 10 on Saturday. The experience adds to their growth as they move deeper into the season.
