Spring Sports Results (Weekend of 5/9/26)

Naples spring sports continued with competition in soccer, softball, baseball, and track and field.

On the pitch, the boys' soccer team battled Rota to a 4-4 tie at home. The match was tied 1 to 1 at halftime before both teams continued to trade goals in the second half.

Softball split its games at home. Naples defeated Vicenza 8 to 5 behind a complete game from Savannah I, who recorded 11 strikeouts. At the plate, Chloe W went 2 for 4 with a home run and three RBI, Emily A went 2 for 3 with a double, a home run, and two runs, while Rita H, Carlyn W, and Savannah I each added two hits. Naples later fell to Sigonella 12 to 1, with Emily A going 2 for 2 with a home run.

Baseball earned two wins at home. Naples defeated Sigonella 7 to 5, with David M driving in two runs. Naples also defeated Vicenza 15 to 3 in three innings and six strikeouts from David M. At the plate, David M, Ryan H, Hayden S, and Andrew S each drove in two runs.

In track and field, Naples competed at home, with the boys finishing third overall with 78 points and the girls finishing fourth with 43 points. Boys' highlights included Sam R winning the 800, Hayden P winning the 1600, and Henry C winning the 3200. Andrew J placed second in the 3200, Hudson S placed second in the 1600 and third in the 3200, and Michael R placed fourth in the 400. Naples also won the boys 4 by 400 relay with Sam R, Hayden P, Oakley N, and Michael R, and the boys sprint medley relay with Michael R, Yoel L, Sam R, and Hayden P.

Additional boys field highlights included Elijah B placing second in discus, Oakley N tying for third in high jump, and Ethan S placing fourth in both long jump and triple jump. On the girls' side, Tori M placed second in the 100, Danielle F placed second in the 1600, Jenna R placed third in the 1600 and fourth in the 800, and Naples won the sprint medley relay. Abrial G won the shot put and placed third in the discus, while Emma S placed fourth in the shot put.
