Spring Sports Results (Weekend of 5/2/26)
Soccer earns two wins, softball sweeps Sigonella, and track posts strong relay and distance results
Naples spring sports continued with action in soccer, softball, track and field, and baseball.
On the pitch, the boys' soccer team defeated Marymount 4-1 at home. Thies M scored twice, Josh B scored twice, and assists came from Josh B, Finn S, and Landon H. Girls' soccer also had a strong match, earning a 7 to 0 win over Marymount.
Softball picked up two home wins over Sigonella. In game one, Naples won 11 to 8 behind a full game pitching effort from Carlyn W, who recorded eight strikeouts. Naples also saw key contributions from Illyana R with two runs, Raegyan R with three runs and two stolen bases, Alexandrea B with two runs, Rita H with two stolen bases, Chloe W with three stolen bases, Carlyn W with two stolen bases, and Emily A with two stolen bases.
In game two, Naples defeated Sigonella 7-1. Savannah I pitched all seven innings, allowing one run while striking out 15. Emily A went 2 for 3 with a double, a triple, and three runs, while Chloe W added two stolen bases.
In track and field, the Naples boys finished fourth overall with 72 points, and the Naples girls finished eighth overall with 25 points. Boys' highlights included Hudson S winning the 1600, with Hayden P finishing second in the same event. Sam R placed third in the 800, Henry C finished third in the 3200, and Elijah B placed fourth in the discus. Naples also won the boys 4 by 400 relay with Hayden P, Ethan S, Sam R, and Oakley N, and won the sprint medley relay with Ethan S, Oakley N, Sam R, and Hayden P.
