Spring Sports Results (Weekend of 4/18/26)
Softball sweeps Rota, baseball earns a win and a tie, soccer splits at AOSR, and track posts strong finishes at Vicenza
Naples spring sports continued with a full slate of competition across soccer, baseball, softball, and track and field.
On the pitch at AOSR, the boys' soccer team fell 5 to 2 on Saturday. The girls' soccer team earned a 2- 1 win on Saturday to secure a split in Rome.
On the diamond at home, baseball opened with a 13- 8 win over Rota. David M threw three innings with six strikeouts, and David M went 2 for 3 with two runs and three RBI at the plate. Additional highlights included Jayden F with a double and two RBI, Jeramiah R with a double, Andrew S with two runs, and Grayson W with three RBI. In the second game, Naples and Rota finished in a 15-15 tie. David M had a double, four runs, and three stolen bases, and Jayden F went 2 for 4 with two RBI and two stolen bases.
Softball also had a strong day against Rota with two wins. Naples won game one 10 to 5 behind a complete game from Carlyn W. Savannah I went 2 for 3 with three runs and two stolen bases, Chloe W went 3 for 4 with two RBI and five stolen bases, and Emily A drove in three runs. In game two, Naples earned an 18-0 win. Savannah I pitched four innings with seven strikeouts, while Claire O went 3 for 4 with four RBI and two runs. Emily A went 2 for 2 with a double, two RBI, four runs, and two stolen bases, and Maggie S went 2 for 3 with two RBI and three runs. Carlyn W went 2 for 2 with two RBI and two runs, and Chloe W went 2 for 2 with two RBI and three runs.
Track and field competed in Vicenza, with the Naples boys placing second overall and the Naples girls fourth. On the boys' side, Hayden P won the 1600, Henry C won the 3200 with Max V finishing second, and Tyler J won both shot put and discus. On the girls' side, Tori M won the 100, and Audrey A placed first in shot put, with Abrial G placing second.
