Seventh Grade Students Compete in Stock Market Game
Twenty four Naples teams invest 100000 dollars in real time trading on the NYSE and NASDAQ
Seventh-grade regular math students are participating in a Stock Market Game. Twenty-four teams of three to four students at Naples Middle High School are competing to see who can earn the most money, starting with an initial cash balance of $100,000 to invest in the stock market.
All trades take place in real time, and any company sold on the NYSE or NASDAQ is allowed. The minimum permitted share price is $3 per share, and the minimum purchase on any given trade is 10 shares for this online game. Donations from companies such as Ameriprise Financial, Bank of America, Charles Schwab Co Inc, Edward D Jones and Co, L P, Fidelity Brokerage Services LLC, Morgan Stanley, UBS Securities LLC, as well as Wells Fargo make this free of charge for students.
Most of the companies students currently invest in are in the S&P 500. Stay tuned to see how these 24 portfolios develop by May, when the competition ends.
