Naples NJROTC kicks off school year with teamwork focus

Cadets at Naples Middle High School are starting the year by putting teamwork front and center.

During the first week of school, the Navy Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (NJROTC) cadets took part in a series of team-building activities designed to strengthen bonds and highlight individual skills.

The exercises paired new cadets with returning ones, giving them a chance to learn from each other while working toward shared goals.

“In NJROTC, teamwork is everything,” said LCDR Chris Storey, the program’s senior naval science instructor. “Starting the year this way sets the tone for what we expect from our cadets—supporting one another and growing together.”

Program leaders said the focus on teamwork helps establish a foundation for success in drill, academic competitions, and community service projects throughout the school year.
