Naples NJROTC Cadets Assist in US Navy Hospital Mass Casualty Drill
NAPLES, Italy — Cadets from the Naples NJROTC recently played a vital role in a “Mass Casualty Drill” conducted by U.S. Navy Hospital Naples.
Several cadets acted as casualties, concerned civilians, reporters, and base personnel during the exercise, which was designed to help hospital staff sharpen their response to medical emergencies within their area of responsibility.
The hospital invited the cadets to participate because of their unique skills and ability to realistically simulate scenarios that would best train medical personnel.
“It was a lot of fun and we really enjoyed learning how the hospital works,” said Cadet Marin S.
The drill allowed staff to practice rapid triage, emergency care, and coordination under realistic conditions, ensuring readiness for a variety of potential situations.
