DoWEA Europe Spring Euros Recap

Our Wildcats competed across multiple sports during the DoWEA Europe Spring Euros, with student-athletes representing Naples in soccer, baseball, softball, and track and field.

Girls' soccer had a strong tournament run in Division II. Naples opened with a 0 to 0 result against Rota, then defeated Sigonella 4 to 0 and Aviano 3 to 0. The Wildcats advanced to the semifinals, where they defeated AOSR 3 -1 before falling 3-2 in overtime to Black Forest Academy in the Division II championship match. Congratulations to Amalia S and Sonia G for being named to the Division II all-tournament team.

The boys' soccer team also competed in the Division II tournament. Naples picked up wins over Aviano and Black Forest Academy, then advanced to the semifinal round before falling to AOSR. The Wildcats later faced Rota in the third-place match. Congratulations to Josh B and Finn S for being named to the Division II all-tournament team.

Baseball entered the Division II/III tournament as the top seed in its pool. Naples defeated Hohenfels 16-2 and Spangdahlem 8-1 during tournament play. Congratulations to David M and Julian P for being named to the Division II/III all-tournament team.

Softball also entered the Division II/III tournament as the top seed in its pool. Naples battled through tournament play, including games against Aviano, Vicenza, and Rota, and earned a 16-4 win over Rota. Congratulations to Emily A for being named to the Division II/III all-tournament team.

In track and field, Naples athletes posted strong results at the DoWEA European championships. The boys' 4x800 relay finished third overall with a time of 8:42.80, and the boys' sprint medley relay finished eighth with a time of 3:58.85. On the girls' side, Tori M placed seventh in the 200, and Abrial G placed seventh in shot put with a throw of 30 feet, 0.5 inches.

Congratulations to all of our Wildcats who competed at Spring Euros. Their effort, teamwork, and competitive spirit represented Naples well.
